Snap “insta”-worthy travel photos at these Instagrammable locations in New Orleans! You’ll find the addresses and ideal times to get the best shot for Instagram. Bring along an instant film camera to add to the fun!
#1: Jackson Square
Address: 701 Decatur St, New Orleans, LA 70116
First, let’s start with the most Instagrammable New Orleans picture you could possibly get! If you want this full shot of Jackson Square in the background of your photo, head across the street and up the steps. I recommend going early in the morning to get a photo with no one in it!
For a unique angle of Jackson Square, find a spot in the grass of the courtyard. It will be pretty hard to get this shot without tourists in the background, but don’t let that stop you!
#2: Corner of Royal & Bienville Street
Address: 301 Royal St, New Orleans, LA 70130 (Forever New Orleans)
Our next Instagrammable New Orleans photo is less obvious at the Royal & Bienville Street intersection. It’s known for its architecture and beautiful hanging greenery that just scream New Orleans. To get there, put in the address for Forever New Orleans, and it’s right on that corner. Pro Tip: Wait until there’s no traffic coming and snap a picture in the middle of the intersection.
#3: Miss Robichaux’s Academy From American Horror Story
Address: Buckner Mansion, 1410 Jackson Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70130
How obsessed with American Horror Story are you? This may have to make it on your photo list! Coven was filmed in this local mansion. Search for Buckner Mansion to get directions here. It’s pretty easy to get this photo any time of day!
#4: Rusty Rainbow Pedestrian Bridge
Address: Crescent Park, 2300 N Peters St, New Orleans, LA 70117
The Rusty Rainbow is harder to find than the others, which makes it a less popular (and basic) photo to snap. The easiest way to explain how to get there is as follows: Head to Crescent Park and use the elevator and stairs to get on the other side of the train tracks. There is a path that leads far down the railroad track, and you’ll eventually come across this bridge! My best advice: KEEP GOING! It seems sketchy but totally worth it.
#5: Hot Tin Rooftop Bar
Address: Pontchartrain Hotel, 2031 St Charles Ave, New Orleans, LA 70130
Find the most incredible view of the city at this rooftop bar. It’s located on the top floor of the Pontchartrain Hotel. Make sure you go early in the day (2pm – 5pm) for a daylight photo because this place gets super crowded in the afternoon!
#6: Jack Rose
Address: Pontchartrain Hotel, 2031 St Charles Ave, New Orleans, LA 70130
This Instagrammable restaurant is also located in the Pontchartrain Hotel. I’m pretty sure this area is used for Instagram photos only! (Kidding, not kidding.) I went during the day, but you should be able to snap a moody picture at night. Pro Tip: Look at Jack Rose’s location on Instagram for posing inspo from past photo ops.
#7: Drink Beauty NOLA
Address: 3424 Magazine St, New Orleans, LA 70115
Beware: You are about to spend $7 for rose sugar milk, but hey, do it for the ‘gram.
This trendy coffee shop on Magazine Street is a hot spot for bloggers coming to New Orleans. Everywhere you turn is another photo opportunity! I recommend going right when they open so you have the whole place for yourself to get that perfect shot.
Instagrammable Place #8: Laborde Gazebo Along City Park’s Lake
Address: NOMA, 1 Collins Diboll Cir, New Orleans, LA 70124
Saving the best for last, this is my very own hidden gem that I only wanted to share with those who made it to the bottom of this post. How beautiful is this?! To get there, park in front of NOMA and head to the lake on the right side (facing NOMA). Walk in the direction toward Wisner Blvd around the lake, and you’ll see it!
