How the Bra Genie Helped Me Find the Right Bra Size
I’ve been wearing the wrong size bra ever since I can remember, and I’m sure you have been too. Let me start this post off by saying that cup size does not define you!! Literally, cup size does not truly define or measure the size of your breast. For example, I’m a 30C, and I have smaller breasts. Someone who is a 28D may have the same size breasts as me. If you go to a plastic surgeon and say “I want a C cup,” he isn’t going to give you a C cup implant because that is not a measurement. Now that you understand that, let’s move on!
The measurement you should really be looking at is the number in front of the cup size– band size. It usually ranges in even numbers 28+. This measurement will give you a good place to start when finding a proper fitting bra.
I learned everything I’m sharing with you now from my experience at The Bra Genie. Senior Fitting Specialist Becca Michelet fitted me and shared tip on how to find the best bra size and shape for your body. I won’t give too much away in this post, so make sure you watch the video below.
Tips for Finding the Right Bra Size
I don’t want to spoil the whole video, but these are some of the key takeaways!
- Band size is MORE IMPORTANT to pay attention to than cup size
- Cup size regardless of letter is about the same across the different band sizes: 34A = 32B = 30C = 28D
- Try different styles to find what fits your body shape best
- Make sure you are on the loosest hook when trying on your bra
