Let’s all admit it now. 2020 was one to remember but could have been better. Moving forward, we have to set goals for the new year if we want to make a change. Instead of creating goals that are hard to commit to like dropping 20 pounds or not texting exes, let’s start with small things we can change in our everyday lives. Stick with all 5 of these New Year’s resolutions or just pick ONE. Either way, you’re bettering your life in 2021!
1. Dress Up More
It’s so easy to throw on leggings and a t-shirt with a sweatshirt. It’s so easy to wear the same clothes to work each week. Wanna spice up your life a little more? Put more effort into your outfits. Wear something bold. Accessorize more. Throw on a different shade of lipstick. You’ll feel so confident every day, and others will take notice.
2. Have Real Conversations
Earlier this week, Nick and I played an extremely simple game consisting of a deck of cards with conversation starters. The “game” sounded boring to play at first, but it got us thinking, connecting, and laughing! It was so fun because we spent quality time together with no distractions. We sat there, drank red wine, and had genuine conversations.
3. Make Time for Your Passions
Next, I’m going to need you to make time for yourself! Maybe taking a hot bath is a passion of yours… or maybe I’m self reflecting in this blog post. No matter what your passion is, fulfill it. Life is too short not too. Make time for yourself even if it’s 20 minutes a day to sneak in a bath.
4. Live in the Moment
This is a luxury a lot of people don’t have. If you have this luxury, allow yourself to enjoy it. I am soooo guilty of this. No matter how good I have it in the present, I feel the anxiety of the looming future. I am so grateful for my past and present. Why would my future be any different!? If anyone has tips for this one, let me know!!
5. DRINK MORE WATER!
Seriously guys. Do it. do it. do it. just do it!! It is so unhealthy to not drink water, and I promise you will feel so much better and have more energy if you drink your water. I personally can attest to this. Buy a cool water bottle that helps you pace your drinking. Whatever it takes, just do it. Read more about how I take care of my body daily here.
